Free well drilling estimates in Commerce
If you own land in Ottawa County, a private well may be the practical way to get water to your home, barn or cabin. The hard part is not usually the drilling. It is finding a driller who works your area, holds the right license and gives you a clear estimate, and that is what you get here.

What to know about wells near Commerce
Wells in Ottawa County draw on the bedrock aquifers that underlie much of Northeast Oklahoma. The USGS lists the Boone and Roubidoux aquifers as underlying parts of Ottawa County. The Boone serves mostly domestic use, while the Roubidoux, typically more than 400 feet deep, supplies public water systems, industry and rural water districts. What that means for a well near Commerce depends on your exact location, so ask your driller what nearby wells look like.
Before you commit, check the Oklahoma Water Resources Board's online database of existing wells and ask your neighbors about depth, yield and water quality. The OWRB suggests both as early clues to what your own well will look like.

Well services in Commerce
Water well drilling
A new well makes sense for a new home site, a barndominium, a cabin or a farm or ranch without a water line. You get matched with a licensed driller and a clear picture of depth, casing and cost before you talk to anyone. Water well drilling
Well pump repair
If your well stopped producing or the pressure dropped, the pump, pressure switch or tank is often the cause. Getting that checked first can be much cheaper than a new well. Well pump repair

Licensed professionals only
Oklahoma licenses well drilling and pump installation professionals through the OWRB, and licensed drillers must follow state construction standards. We refer only professionals who hold a current license. You can verify any of them in the OWRB's Find a Licensed Driller tool.
Straight information on cost
Third-party 2026 estimates put a 200-foot well at about $7,100 with 4-inch PVC casing and $12,240 with 6-inch steel casing. The driller's estimate is the number that counts, and we do not set prices. Full cost guide

Before you drill
Permits. The OWRB does not require an intent-to-drill authorization for domestic wells used for household purposes, livestock up to the land's grazing capacity or irrigation of less than 3 acres. Other uses need authorization. Confirm with the OWRB or your driller. Permit guide
Location on your land. Keep a well away from septic systems, animal pens, treated foundations, old oil or gas wells and landfills. The OWRB owner's guide suggests keeping contamination sources at least 50 feet down-gradient of the well when you can.
Testing. The OWRB recommends testing well water for coliform bacteria and nitrates at least once a year.
